Practical Guide to Aiship Parts and Statuses
This guide is to help you better figure out which pieces to put together on your airship and why.
There are four kinds of airship part: hulls, riggings, forecastles, and aftcastles. Each of these parts uses statuses for construction and performance. These are called "Outfitting Bonuses" and "Part Functionality," respectively.
Construction Statuses
Rank - This is the required rank of the part. Rank prevents low level ships from being overpowered. It also forces players to mix and match pieces until they find the performance output that they desire. Part ranks can be mixed together, as long as they do not exceed the rank of the airship.
*Note: There are two "Rank" statuses when making airships. One rank is found on the individual part; the other is found on the actual airship. Rank on the airship is equivalent to the ship's level, and rank on the part is the requirement to equip the part to the ship.
Components - This is the number of the part that adds up in a status called "Airframe Capacity." Every part of the airship has a component rating. These parts can not add up to more than the Airframe Capacity.
Airframe Capacity - The limitation on ship parts. This status is found on the actual airship and is controlled by the rank of the airship.
*Note: At rank 50, the airframe capacity is 61.
Performance Statuses
Surveillance - Not yet defined in-game by SE. Assume it has to do with how much it can see in each sector.
Retreival - Not yet defined in-game by SE. Assume it has to do with how large the quantities are for items delivered.
Speed - Not yet defined in-game by SE. Assume it has to do with deployment timer. The higher the number, the shorter the travel time.
Range - Not yet defined in-game by SE. Assume it has to do with how far the airship will go in each sector.
Favor - Not yet defined in-game by SE. Assume it has to do with taking less damage.

Creating Your Beautiful Air-Beast
First and foremost, airships are expensive to make, so you will want to have spent a good amount of time investing in research in order avoid making a mistake, such as putting on the wrong parts which will give you the wrong bonuses.
