Cherolene's family gained their fortune by cross-breeding the perfect grapes for wines and juices. The "Noble-" in their name comes from their most successful breed - Noble Grapes. The family became synonymous with their brand of wine, Noblewyne, and their family adopted the namesake once they were too wealthy for anyone to argue it. She is spoiled by a wealthy family upbringing, and is unstable from the emotional neglect that comes along with it.

The Noblewyne family ancestral home is Limsa Lominsa since nearby Oakwood ,in Upper La Noscea, was the former location of the family vineyards. Their company is based in Limsa Lominsa, but has offices in other cities. Since the family had been growing grapes there for generations, the noble grapes are now wild in Oakwood, allowing botanists the pleasure of harvesting them for themselves. Their vineyards have long since disappeared from Vylbrand, but no one knows to where since they are now a closely guarded secret to ensure the family brand. Rumors are there is an unmapped island on which their new grapes grow in order to prevent escaped vines.

Cherolene's parents both died before she was 9-years-old. After their death, her care was seen to by a flurry of attendants and maidservants. As she grew, she realized her peerage was full of mindless, talentless, corrupt, and, worst of all, boring slobs and harlots; she had to disconnect herself. During one particularly painful banquet, Cherolene set fire to the buffet table and dining hall in order to bring the festivities to an end sooner. She was just thirteen. She was terribly off until the age of fifteen, when Melionne Tutrice was hired by the estate caretakers and Noblewyne wardens in order to wrangle and refine the Noblewyne siblings. Cecilayne was a great success for Melionne; Cherolene was not.

Cherolene is Kreigen's charge at the Lavenderwinds Haven by order of the Sultana Nanamo Ul Namo since the Sultana has a vested interest in keeping the Noblewyne lineage strong and profitable. Since meeting her, Cherolene has become Kreigen's weird version of the "perfect woman."

Pamelia and Edysia Posie both came into the employment of Cherolene after she met Kreigen at the Lavenderwinds Haven. She hired Pamelia as her bodyguard, for no real apparent reason, and Edysia as the "tavern wench" at her newly aquired bar, Mog's Realm Tavern. Both of the Posie women were friends of Kriegen before they met Cherolene, and they both have profited from her friendship.

Cherolene is personally worth 5 billion gil, but her share of the Noblewyne estate and assets is worth 50 trillion gil. This means her brother is also worth 50 trillion gil. They are two of the wealthiest people for their age and tend to be surrounded by old men at social gatherings and charity functions.

Cherolene also believes she is 1/64th Roegadyn Hellsguard.

Lesser Known Information (Friends & Family Know This):

Cherolene chose the Thaumaturge path because she is a pyromaniac and an arsonist, and there's no better way to set things on fire than with Fire. She has been ordered to pursue nothing but Alchemy by the Sultana while she stays at Lavenderwinds Haven, in order to prevent costly fires and because alchemists are only allowed to weild alembics and mortars. She has been forbidden sharp tools and instruments, such as lances and daggers.

Cherolene is extemely put-off by the disfigured and abnormally formed people. She does not like Lalafell because they are too reminiscent of dwarven or legless Hyur. She does not like most children either, so this also makes her dislike the Lalafell. She is disgusted and repelled by babies of any race. To her, they are "germ-ridden, vomit-and-crap-mongers."

Another of Cherolene's lesser known quirks is that she is aroused by physical and emotional violence, such as being slapped or choked, or even just yelled at vigorously. Because she enjoys being choked, she is very turned-on by the big hands of Au Ra, Roegadyn, and Highlander males.

She is also a drug addict, a habit that Kriegen is not necessarily helping her with at the moment. Cherolene prefers her drugs in candy and edible forms. She is known to drink as well, but will not drink her own family brand of wine for personal reasons. Because of the turmoil in her youth and her over-priced, under-attentive surroundings, she developed the addictions and pyromania. Though Cherolene is quite unstable from her upbringing and drug abuse, she is actually quite intelligent. Her mental instabilities are recongnized by Kreigen as "fractured genius." They also make it quite hard for political and financial foes to perceive her intellect and depth of planning.

The final straw with Cherolene in the Sultana's eyes was when she started a series of arsons. The entirety of Eorzea became affected by her acts, though only Kriegen would ever truly understand. The properties being destroyed by her were being used by a highly corrupt organization called The Numbers to front horrendous trades that even Kriegen found distasteful once she entrusted the truth to him. She had been informed by a "private investigator" about the goings-on. She has never even told her brother the truth, since they were his charities that she burned down. "It would break his stupid heart. And he is my stupid brother, afterall."

While she seems snobbish about giving her gil to charity for "the poors," she actually just abhors bad investments. She understands that the real issue is ignorance, corruption, and asset mis-management. She has what authorities call "anarchistic and dangerous idea," but they are really just detrimental to the systems and powers that be.

Cherolene helps fund Kriegen's secret works. After they became closer friends, Cherolene made him move his illegal experiments out of the heart of Ul'dah and into a private, undisclosed laboratory. Only Altani Sechen'oki is aware of the location besides Kriegen and Cherolene.

Recently, Cecilayne has been attempting to usurp Cherolene's share of the estate, under the advise of Tiphanie Weaverly. The Weaverly family is also wealthy and powerful, but her father wants to bring the Noblewyne money into their control so they can expand their influence. Tiphanie's father wants Cherolene "institutionallized indefinitely," and even Cecilayne isn't aware of this. Tiphanie has been selling him a plan to steal Cherolene's money by convincing him that she is not mentally sound enough to manage her assets. Tiphanie also feels the pressure of Cecilayne's charty work draining their accounts. When Cherolene found out, she wanted to poison Tiphanie, but Kriegen and Altani convinced her otherwise.
